Here are some of the really cool (IMO) specialty desserts I've done lately

Buche du Noel for a Christmas party
Meringue mushrooms!!!

Gateau du St. Honore'   (my new FAVORITE)

Bridal Shower cake for my niece (the flip-flops are cake, covered with fondant and all of the seashells are hand-made from candy melts)

My mom's latest birthday was all done in rainbows - including the 2 layered, multi tiered cake.

Haven't posted in forever, but I've been super busy.

Here are some of my favorites of late:

A birthday cake for my mom (first attempt at multiple shaped layers; not quite a tiered cake, but it turned out well - and man, was it good!)

A dobosh torte for my birthday.  The top layer is carmeled and supported by hazelnuts

Another cake for my mom.  We took a decorating class in 1995 and just LOVED the clowns.  So I made another one for her last year.

Strawberry Trifle (just to prove that I don't ONLY do cakes) ;)

Can't remember who got these.  Sometimes I make cakes just for fun.  ;)

Took another decorating class this year.  Had to practice my roses and rose buds. (the stems need a lot of work)

This is the 'Final' cake for the class.  Turned out very well (pretty sure I passed)  ;o)
